Of course, there are many professional firms doing a great job on SEO, but I think for a small business owner it’s better if he or she just browse on the internet for a couple of hours, collecting free info on search engine optimization. This way they won’t be scammed so easily.

Working with small business owners in the home services industry has opened my eyes. They seem to be the most at risk because of the competitiveness of their industry and lack of knowledge of search engine marketing. Fortunately for my clients, I have warned them not to take these calls and if something seems interesting, to pass it to me for review. But others need to proceed with caution when it comes to sales people guaranteeing first page positions in Google.
