Hi Danielle,

Thank you so much for the kind words. Social media is a fast moving, rapidly changing space which many people find overwhelming. If through my social media activity I help people get more out of their efforts, then I've done what I've set out to do.

Nice hearing from you!

Wow - Excellent information here. This served me as a focused review of your teleseminar I attended a couple months ago: Get Connected. Get Found. The Practical Guide to Marketing using Social Media.

And to SJNAWBO's credit, I would have never known about such a tremendous resource without their email announcing your seminar.

Thank you again for openly sharing your extensive knowledge and skill with social networking!

Most appreciatively - Danielle

Joanne,

Thanks - I feel the same way. Getting 3000 friends a day is not what I call developing relationships. I'll take my one or two friends, fans, followers and connections a day, or even in a week, if they are truly interested in getting to know me (and vice versa).

Thanks for stopping by - Debra

Hi Debra, well written article. You and I share a very similar perspective. I hope the companies selling friends fail. To me, it'd be like buying a generic mailing list of few -- if any -- people interested in what you have to offer. I believe all good, long-term strategies take time to build momentum. Patience is key. It takes years sometimes, but by then you've built credibility and a name and your website becomes your right arm person who is on the job 24/7/365.
