Going back to read this post from 2008 made me realize the progress that has been made in the adoption of social media by the baby boomer generation, evidenced by the fact that those over 40 are the fastest growing demographic on Facebook. Knowing people in their 40's and 50's who have lost their jobs in the recession is also encouraging people to learn these technologies so they can compete for new jobs, as many hiring managers will be looking for their social media "resume" rather than a traditional CV.

Thanks for your comment!

The percentage of baby boomers who are using social media is on the rise. I am confident that they will catch up with you, Debra, and you will be leading the way. Hurray for Web 2.0!

Maybe that's not so bad. When you spend a lot of time on the Internet, it takes away from the time you have available to contribute to your community.

I write a boomer consumer blog called The Survive and Thrive Boomer Guide at http://boomersurvive-thriveguide.typepad.com.
