I love the freedom of having my own business and being an entrepreneur. For the last five years I’ve built Vista Consulting, a successful marketing agency working with high technology companies and service businesses, helping them market their products and services more effectively. Recently I have launched Masterful Marketing™, an 8 step marketing system that caters to the business owner that needs help marketing their professional service business.

I have been consistently approached by independent professionals who would ask me if I could help them, but I knew that my consulting business model did not cater to the needs of smaller businesses or budget even though the same system I use for larger companies would work just as well for these business owners. So through my desire to help business owners and independent professionals build their businesses around their passions came Masterful Marketing™ - 8 Steps to a Winning Marketing Plan.

Launching this program has fulfilled my dream of helping many businesses not become one of the statistics of business failures. Nothing is more liberating than having control of your livelihood, income and destiny in life. I want to share what I’ve learned with others so they can enjoy what I enjoy.

In addition to running these businesses, I love giving workshops and clinics to business owners, independent professionals, entrepreneurs and anyone interested in learning about marketing and branding. These workshops can be for the benefit of your company, an organization or for you. I have also co-authored the book “Create the Business Breakthrough You Want: Secrets and Strategies from the World’s Greatest Mentors” and am in the process of penning my first independent book that will be based on the information presented in these tele-clinics. I am a member of Business Network International (BNI) and the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce where I serve on their Board of Directors.

When I’m not working, my other passions are golf and fitness and because I have control of my life, I am able to fit these activities into my schedule regularly. As a golfer I belong to Marlborough Country Club, the Worcester County Women’s Golf Association (WCWGA) and the Women’s Golf Association of Massachusetts (WGAM). As a member of Marlborough Country Club, I also serve on their board of directors. My fitness regimen is Thai kickboxxing and racquetball. To counter all that healthy living, I regularly enjoy good wine and great food.

Note about “riomurphy”: I use riomurphy for many of my screen names. This is a combination of my maiden and married names. I also took my maiden name as my middle name when I got married. Since Rio is a somewhat unusual name, the combination is usually available as a unique name and carries my personal brand throughout all of my social media profiles.
