Small Business Trends published their 100 marketing tips project as a downloadable PDF file to keep, share, print and post. It contains 33 pages of tips on relationship marketing, strategy, communicating and messaging, selling, social media, and online marketing. I’m honored to have had my tip included in the document among numerous and more notable, marketing experts.
The tip that I submitted was recently on my mind as I had just written a blog post called The Balancing Act in Marketing based on my experience of developing an ad verses what my designer did with the ad. The tip is:
Learn not only how to best market your business, but also learn what you are good at in marketing and what you should leave up to the experts to do for you. Many small business owners try to cut costs in marketing by doing it all. Trying to do things you are not good at is more deadly to your business than not doing them at all. Figure out what you can do yourself and bring in the experts to do the rest. It will pay off in the long run.
